Teaching

I am a multi-instrumentalist with 15+ years of teaching experience, both privately and in schools. I began learning classical instruments (clarinet and piano) at an early age, then added rock instruments (drums, guitar, bass) and electronic music production skills as a teenager.
I have a first class degree in Music from King's College London and a Distinction in my Masters from Goldsmiths. I have performed at venues including Glastonbury and the Royal Albert Hall, and my music projects have amassed millions of streams.

I am passionate about teaching, particularly to young people. I am extremely proud to have taken my students from scratch to serious proficiency with many Trinity/Rockschool exam successes along the way, plus alumni progressing to further education and careers in music of their own.

Visit me at my professional studio space in Woodford, London, or connect over Zoom if you would like drum, guitar, or bass lessons. I can also teach you clarinet, beginner piano or pop keyboard. I can tutor music theory/music production to help prepare for ABRSM/Rockschool exams, or GCSE/A Level Music.

I have an enhanced DBS Certificate and full Public Liability Insurance through the Musicians Union.

My rates are £50/hr (30, 45 mins also available). This includes detailed lesson feedback, plus practice assistance during the week via WhatsApp.

'I couldn't have asked for a better teacher than Thom.
He guided me through all 8 Grades, got me into music college, and now I find myself drumming as my profession!'
